Bow Wow is in the middle of a $75,000 lawsuit for missing a concert--and the make-up date--in St. Louis, Missouri. According to the suit, filed in U.S. District Court in St. Louis, Bow Wow was booked by Brad Gould's Macsimum Entertainment for a show at St. Charles Family Arena, but when ticket sales fell flat, Bow Wow's management pulled out. He was then scheduled for a make-up date at a "Back to School Jam" at Rotary Park in Wentzville in September, but never showed, according to the lawsuit.
Mayor of the city personally helped promote the "Back to School" event, lent a hand to help promote the event, and a portion of the proceeds were supposed to go to charity.
"There were a lot of fans waiting to see (Bow Wow) and looking forward to the show," Mayor Lambi told the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch. "The concert promoter had put a lot of work into it. It was kind of embarrassing for him because he got the mayor involved, the charities, and then the guy [Bow Wow] didn't show." The company says Bow Wow was paid $50,000 up front and another $43,000 on promotions, venues and requests, which included first-class tickets for himself and entourage and room and board in five-star hotels. According to the lawsuit, Bow Wow tweeted that he missed the show due to inclement weather, then apologized to fans for also missing his second flight as well. Lawyers for Macsimum have been attempting to serve Bow Wow papers related to the lawsuit, but are being blocked by his security.
Irresponsible behavior for someone who needs desperately to get his career back on track.
